I spent the weekend in DC at a conference about the Poland thing. We had a pretty amazing time... making friends virtually everywhere - including the police officer in front of the White House, a man from India named Shankar who was 43 and full of really good jokes, and an information officer at the Charlotte airport who helped me choose between a blueberry and a banana muffin (banana was the final purchased flavor, and definitely the best). If this weekend was a preview of the next three months, I'm elated.
Dave took the train down from Baltimore to see me! And somehow our bus got lost coming back from DC, so it ended up taking two hours to get to our hotel (we didn't really care, me Dave and Court slept the ENTIRE way home) so he stayed the night and took the 10 am back.
I didn't really sleep the entire weekend though. Blame it on hanging out in the lobby with Jaime and staying up late meeting new people in the area... so I soon as I got home yesterday, I crashed into my bed. But today is a new day and I've got lots of stuff to do! I leave for Florida tomorrow with Keith, and I must do laundry, buy a Eurail pass (YAY!), and get the rest of my stuff in order before then. And decide which luggage I'm taking. And what outfits... gah. I have to pack for each type of weather.. AND get a backpack for when we go off across Europe in the train. I think we may even make it down to Greece and (gasp) Istanbul. Which would be thrilling. I'm rambling. ANYWAY lots to do.
Oh and I MUST download Flight of the Conchords before I depart.
